This Sunday, Redland City’s LGBTQIA+ radio sensation on Bay FM 100.3, So Bae Party Mix, is celebrating drag sensations with a GLOBAL DRAGFEST. Catch Art Simone, Michael Marouli, Lala Ri and more.
This one-of-a-kind radio event celebrates drag excellence both globally and locally. The team behind the show think that this could be the most drag-fuelled radio that’s ever been created.
As Drag Race Down Under Vs The World wraps up its inaugural season, Bay FM’s SoBae Party Mix will bring you interviews from London with Michael Marouli (the current Queen of The World) and also Atlanta, Georgia, as Miss LaLa Ri joins the party.
Plus, the show will feature interviews from Melbourne with Art Simone and Mum The Drag Queen; Sydney features the gorgeous Vybe and Etcetera Etcetera and representing Brisbane are the incredibly talented Gia Von She and Lulu LeMans Brisbane, all in one radio program.
“It’s a radio show so camp, we may have to broadcast from a pink tent this week,” laughed host Tony Tranter.

Two of Tranter’s loves combine with community radio and Drag Race Down Under coming together.
Tranter is also one half of the brains and beauty of the Down Under Debrief podcast, the unofficial ru-cap and review of all things Down Under drag. If you’ve ever listened, you’d know he is obsessed in all the right ways!

Celebrating drag doesn’t just mean celebrating Drag Race
Since its inception in 2021, creators and RadioHusbands Tony Tranter and Jas Manfield wanted So Bae to be an inclusive and diverse program, celebrating music, performers and entertainment.
“90% of radio only really celebrates a narrow section of entertainment and an even narrower section of Australia’s queer community,” Tranter told QNews.
“I am incredibly proud to see how the show has grown over the years to the point now where we’re the only radio in Australia that officially celebrated this season of Drag Race Down Under vs the World (that I know of) and amplified what these incredible drag artists were presenting each week.”

So Bae was recently a finalist in the Best Non-Commercial Program at the Australian Radio Awards.
The show has not only celebrated this season of the Drag Race franchise with weekly exit interviews with this season’s contestants (when technology would allow), but over the years has also focused on highlighting Brisbane’s beautifully diverse local scene.
You won’t want to miss GLOBAL DRAGFEST on community radio this Sunday.
“Celebrating drag on a TV show is great. But if you can name 100 contestants and yet not a single local drag performer, you are seriously missing out on a good time. Get out here already!”
Listen to So Bae Party Mix every Sunday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Bay FM 100.3. Stream via bayfm.org.au or iHeartRadio.
