Drag Race Down Under vs the World crowns its winner

A new icon has been named the Queen of the Mother-Tucking World in the grand final of Drag Race Down Under vs the World. As Vybe, M1ss Jade So, Art Simone and Michael Marouli went head-to-head on the runway.

Yes, this article contains spoilers for the final episode of Drag Race Down Under vs the World. So if you haven’t watched it yet (STOP READING), please watch the episode on STAN; it’s worth the watch. You’ve been warned.

For the past eight weeks, we have eagerly watched eleven (but really only ten) drag queens battle it out to earn the title of Queen of the Mother Tucking World.

And earn it they have. It was a nail-biting final episode of a series that has breathed new life into the Drag Race Down Under franchise.

We will still be doing our camp episode wrap-up over the weekend, but we couldn’t wait to share this news.

What a top four

The spinoff was confirmed in August of last year, after the fourth Down Under season wrapped up in December 2024.

Brilliantly hosted by Michelle Visage, the judges’ panel included Rhys Nicholson, joined by Drag Race Down Under season 4 winner, Lazy Susan.

When the cast was announced, we couldn’t have been more excited by the breadth of talent. The Down Under contingent included Art Simone, Coco Jumbo, Flor, Nikita Iman, and Vybe.

And the international queens competing were Estrella Xtravaganza, Lala Ri, M1ss Jade So, Michael Marouli, Nicole Paige Brooks and (for a hot minute) Raven.

Everyone brought their all, and it was heaven to see, but with four contestants left standing, we had no idea who could take the crown.

Seriously, we had no clue.

From four queens to two

This episode was filled with fabulous reflections, intimate conversations and a whole lot of campary.

But after a wig-snatch mini-challenge and an AMAZING group performance of Get Down (available on all fabulous streaming services), our top four wittled down to two.

As our queens stood before our judges, emotional and nervous as hell, Michelle, who looked amazing, let Vybe and M1ss Jade So know that it wasn’t their time yet.

Both beautifully exited the stage. Art Simone and Michael Michael Marouli performed one last lip-sync to RuPaul’s Adrenaline.

Two very different performers who beautifully represent what the art form is in their countries.  They both brought very different energies to the stage, but only one could take the crown.

Lazy Susan told us earlier in the week that she had created a look that was her version of a step-down look, and wasn’t it amazing? Actually, both looks were amazing.

But enough of that, we have a queen to crown!

Congratulations Michael Marouli.

This UK queen brought such power and diversity to the show, demonstrating what a diverse art form drag continues to be.

She champions herself and the art form to the fullest.

Congratulations Michael Marouli, you superstar.
