Harry Potter author JK Rowling is facing a fresh barrage of memes from fans after a new revelation about beloved wizard Albus Dumbledore’s sex life went viral.

In a special feature for the DVD and Blu-ray of latest film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Rowling explains of Dumbledore and Grindelwald, “Their relationship was incredibly intense. It was passionate, and it was a love relationship.

“But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows, really, what the other person is feeling.

“So I’m less interested in the sexual side — though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship — than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other.”

It was in 2007, after the publication of the final Harry Potter book, that JK Rowling announced at a public event that beloved wizard Albus Dumbledore was a gay man.

But since then, Rowling’s retroactive attempts to be queer-inclusive in the series have been a running joke among fans online, frustrated that Dumbledore’s sexuality still hasn’t been explicitly addressed in any of the Harry Potter universe’s books or films.

And JK Rowling’s latest comments about Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s sexual relationship has reignited debate – and hilarious commentary – on the topic, with fans revealing new details of their own about Harry Potter characters. A word of warning, some of the tweets below are NSFW:

But all kidding aside, we’re just going to leave this tweet thread here:
