Just months after the season 2 finale of Drag Race UK the official Twitter account has dropped their first teaser for the upcoming season 3.

Despite rumours that the season had already wrapped production earlier this year the sneak peek has taken viewers by surprise.

Traditionally Drag Race seasons are aired annually, with the US typically airing a standard season and an All Stars season each year.

Naturally it was expected the Drag Race UK would follow the standard formula and air in 2022.

However while the trailer does not reveal the identities of the upcoming queens competing on the program it does reveal some crucial information.

At the end of the 11 second promo the words “Autumn 2021” appear on screen. Little else is revealed in the trailer except for a decadent amount of hands and nails.

Crawling through a sea of colour the hands of the queens can be seen making their on screen debut.

As expected its loud, lavish and gives just enough to have viewers on Twitter frothing for the ruveal.

Season 3: What we know so far

Although no premiere date or queen names have been released there’s enough to know about Drag Race UK to get us excited.

Following the shock exit of Veronica Green during Season 2 Rupaul made the announcement that she would have an open invitation to return.

This is the same invitation was extended to Eureka when she was forced to leave season nine of Drag Race US. Eureka returned the following season and again for All Stars 6.

Safe to say Veronica is sure to return.

While Autumn may have been and gone for us in Australia, it’s on the way in the UK.

Kicking off from September 22nd through to December gives a definite window for the air date of Drag Race UK.

Allowing for an 8 – 10 episode season would mean the program will likely air late September or early October. This will allow the finale to air before the Christmas break begins.

Which means it could be just 3 months until we see the season 3 debut.

The stars of Drag Race UK

Since its first two seasons saw the crowning of The Vivienne (Season 1) and Lawrence Chaney (Season 2) the program has made household names of some of its stars.

The Vivienne has appeared in a string of World of Wonder productions and most recently appeared on British show Emmerdale.

Meanwhile her season one cast mate Baga Chipz has appeared in every British celebrity program possible.

Some of her credits include Celebrity Roast Battle, X Factor: Celebrity, Celebrity Masterchef and most recently The Celebrity Circle.

Fellow Alumni Blu Hydrengea has even gone on to land her own TV Show.

Season two winner Lawrence Chaney has also gone on to appear on Celebrity Juice, launch their first book and is set to commence their Purple Reign tour.

If the careers of the first two seasons contestants are anything to go by we can expect great things from the cast of Drag Race UK Season 3

Drag Race UK is available to stream in Australia on Stan.
