Here’s How ‘Yes’ Campaigners Will Respond To That ‘Vote No’ Skywriting

“Yes” campaigners have crowdfunded more than $5600 to fly an enormous rainbow banner over Sydney in response to the “no” campaign’s sky-written message last weekend.

“Be part of the movement to get the ‘vote yes’ message into our beautiful sky,” organiser Jay Haurat wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“We will be having a huge rainbow flag towed behind a helicopter. Thank you to Sydney’s aerial banner advertising firm Remarkable Media for getting on board with this.”

The words “vote no” appeared over Sydney on Sunday, the morning after the Coalition for Marriage launched its campaign against same-sex marriage.

It emerged that anonymous “no” campaigners had crowdfunded more than $2500 on GoFundMe to fund the sky-written message (pictured below).

But the website later froze the money until the organisers gave their names and locations.
