Wonder Woman Is ‘Obviously’ Bisexual, Comic Writer Confirms

Wonder Woman is “obviously” bisexual, a longtime writer of the iconic superhero character has confirmed.

The character is an Amazonian princess from the island Themyscira, which is entirely populated by female warriors.

In a recent interview with Comicosity, DC Comics writer Greg Rucka has confirmed the warrior queen’s sexuality.

“When you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is ‘how can they not all be in same sex relationships?’ right?” Rucka said.

“It makes no logical sense otherwise.”

Rucka, who wrote for Wonder Woman throughout the 2000s, returned to DC Comics this year to work on a new series commemorating the character’s 75th year in print.

He explained that “being gay” is not a concept on the fictional island.

“An Amazon doesn’t look at another Amazon and say, ‘You’re gay’. They don’t. The concept doesn’t exist,” he said.

“Now, are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? The answer is obviously yes.”

Wonder Woman returned to the big screen this year in the film Batman v Superman, and will star in her own film, played by Gal Gadot, next year.
