WATCH: Two Contestants On Vietnam’s ‘The Bachelor’ Chose Each Other Instead

Contestant on Vietnam The Bachelor

It was a rose ceremony to remember on Vietnam’s iteration of dating show The Bachelor when two female contestants professed their love for each other on a recent episode.

Last Thursday night, contestant Minh Thu told the show’s bachelor Nguyen Quoc Trung that she had to leave the show because she was smitten with fellow competitor, Truc Nhu.

“I went into this competition to find love,” Thu said.

“And I’ve found that love for myself. But it isn’t you. It’s someone else.”

She then walked over to Nhu to embrace her and pleaded for Nhu to come home with her.

As the other contestants watched on, Nhu walked up to Trung and returned her rose.

“I know you’ll find someone who really loves you, who understands you, who knows how to take care of you, who can look at you from afar and know how you’re feeling,” she told him.

“I’m sorry.”

Both women walked out of the ceremony together, but Nhu reportedly had a change of heart.

After she had a heart-to-heart with Bachelor Trung, she returned to the show.

“After talking to Trung, I’ve changed my mind to accept this rose and continue this journey,” she said, shocking viewers once more.

A video clip of the rose ceremony uploaded to YouTube with English subtitles has received half a million views.

Australia’s Bachelor couple

In 2016, two contestants on Australia’s version of The Bachelor, Megan Marx and Tiffany Scanlon, ended up falling in love after their stint on the show before splitting in 2017.

Earlier this month, Channel Ten was accused of biphobia by fans after their promotion of a female contestant’s revelation of past relationships with women.
