Anja Nissen, the Australian singer competing for Denmark in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, has secured a spot in the finals.
The Sydney-born 21-year-old is representing her parent’s home country and sang her song “Where I Am” in Eurovision’s second semi-final in Kyiv, Ukraine on Friday morning, Australian time.
Anja won The Voice Australia 2014 and will be among the performers up against Australia’s official contender – former X-Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace (pictured below, right) – in the Eurovision finals this weekend.
The second 10 finalists that made it through were Denmark, Bulgaria, Belarus, Croatia, Hungary, Israel, Romania, Norway, Austria and the Netherlands.
The Eurovision grand final will be screened live on SBS on Sunday morning at 5am. Both semi-finals and the finals will also be screened on SBS tonight, Saturday and Sunday at 7.30 pm.
