Kylie Minogue has released the music video for her new song “Dancing”.
The singer dons cowboy boots, strums a guitar and shows off her line-dancing skills in the clip for the country-influenced lead single from upcoming album Golden.
“Life’s all just moments which all join up,” Kylie explained.
“Some of them are great, and some of them are less than sparkling – but ultimately I wanted this video to reflect the celebratory nature of the song.”
Golden will be released on April 6, and Kylie has said she recorded most of it in Nashville, Tennessee, the spiritual home of country music.
“I promised my fans that I would be putting my heart and soul into this record. And I stayed true to my word,” she teased.
“I was able to do that, which was challenging and fun and rewarding. And it’s ended up in a different direction for sure, but essentially it’s still very much a Kylie record.”
She said returning to the studio to record the album was “a kind of saviour” after her breakup with fiance Joshua Sasse in February last year.
“The end of 2016 was not a good time for me. So when I started working on the album in 2017 it was, in many ways, a great escape,” she said.
Kylie said she also hopes to tour the new album later this year.
