A gay rugby player made the crowd cheer after he got engaged to his boyfriend at Saturday’s London Pride parade.
Fernando Ferreira plays for the Kings Cross Steelers RFC, which was founded in 1995 as one of the world’s first gay and inclusive rugby clubs.
As he and his teammates took part in the parade, he approached his boyfriend Greg in the sidelines and got down on one knee, sending the crowd wild.
More than 26,000 people took to the streets of London on Saturday for the biggest march in the event’s 45-year history, organisers said.
Fernando and Greg’s was just one of many marriage proposals at the event. One of the police officers at the parade also proposed to her girlfriend.
