WATCH: French Athletes in Nude Calendar

Dieux Du Stade nude calendar nude male

First the Warwick Rowers released a teaser video for their newest nude male calendar. Now there’s a new teaser video for the 2017 Dieux Du Stade nude calendar.

Dieux Du Stade translates as ‘gods of the stadium’.

The calendars and books from Stade feature mainly black and white erotic photographs of nude male athletes.

Rugby stars began stripping naked for the sexy Dieux Du Stade charity calendars in 2001.

In 2015, interest in the calendar grew after nude full frontal shots from the calendar photo shoot went viral online.

Their first calendars featured players from a French domestic rugby team.

However, this year’s shoot brings in athletes from mixed martial arts, judo, biathlon and other sports.

Now, the producers release a ‘making of’ video each year to accompany the calendar.

The videos often include full frontals.

Originally created to support charity, the increasing popularity of the calendars also raised the profile of the Stade Français team. Eventually French rugby in general benefitted frim the increased exposure.

Conceived as part of a marketing strategy crafted by the club president, the calendars succeeded in attracting new fans to rugby. More women and gay men than ever before now watch French rugby live and on television.

Dieux Du Stade’s nude males aimed at gay market

Gone are the days when marketers of male nude imagery pretended their market was only women. The calendars now feature flagrant homo-provocative poses.

Stade unashamedly market their calendars, books and videos to a gay male market.

This year Stade are donating a portion of the proceeds to French breast cancer charity “Le cancer du sein, parlons-en!” (“Let’s Talk About Breast Cancer!”)
