Brisbane soprano Ana Marina has launched her debut album “Haunted” at the underground venue Spring Hill Reservoir.
Ana Marina will next perform a full concert on Thursday night, presented by the Underground Opera Company, at the 140-year-old Reservoir.
Ms Marina has starred in productions of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables but she’s taking on a new role as a singer-songwriter with the new album that she said is the realisation of a lifelong dream after her successful stage career.
“Performing was such a huge part of my life, and I was able to travel to some incredible places, sharing the stage with inspirational artists across the world,” she said.
“After all of this excitement, I took a break to start a family, and then got to work on making the transition from singing other people’s songs to writing and singing my own. It was something I’d been dreaming of doing since my teens.”
“The album contains five of my own original songs and also some covers I have always loved. I can’t wait to showcase this music I’ve created – it will be the realisation of a fantastic dream,” she said.
