That’s right, Neil Patrick Harris is returning to television for his latest offering, Uncoupled.
This time he’s leading the screen as a gay man.
It’s a different role for the man who played a womaniser on How I Met Your Mother for so many years.
Neil Patrick Harris in Uncoupled
Darren Star is behind the new show Uncoupled, which looks to have a very Sex & The City feel to it.
Which is no surprise.
Star was also behind that hit show and also the current hit Emily In Paris.
His latest offering, Uncoupled, brings us to the life of Michael, played by Neil Patrick Harris.
After being dumped by his partner of seventeen years Michael has to start over again, in his fourties.
It’s a daunting prospect for the character but for also many of the audience watching, especially gay men.
Many are scared at the prospect of being single in their 40’s or having a loved one leave them.
Taking that fear and turning it into an engaging queer rom com will be a challenge, but with this team, will be seamless.
The eight part series will follow Michael as he attempts to piece his life together again.
And perhaps, find love once more?
When can we see Uncoupled?
Uncoupled is another offering from Netflix.
It follows on the heels of shows like queer drama Heartstopper which has captured hearts worldwide.
Netflix are taking a different direction as they draw their attention to a much older audience this time.
But they would be hoping to have the same effect.
Uncoupled is set to debut on the streaming service on July 29, 2022.
You can watch the first trailer for the show right here.
