Troye Sivan & Hugh Sheridan nominated for 2022 Logies

Troye Sivan and Hugh Sheridan logies

Two of Australia’s biggest LGBTQIA+ stars, Troye Sivan and Hugh Sheridan, have been nominated for the 2022 Logies.

The two actors have been nominated for their respective work in film and television.

This marks ten years since Hugh Sheridan last won a Logie and is Troye Sivan’s first Logies nomination.

Hugh Sheridan nominated for Back To The Rafters

From 2009 to 2012 Hugh Sheridan picked up four Logies for their role in Packed To The Rafters.

It seems only fitting that ten years later they have been nominated for their role in the reboot.

Streaming on Amazon Prime in 2021 Back To The Rafters saw the return of Sheridan to the rafter family.

Hugh has been nominated for Most Outstanding Supporting Actor in the series.

They returned to reprise their role as Ben Rafter in the six part series in 2021.

Audiences flocked to the series, thrilled to see its return.

However it follows a turbulent few years for the star.

In 2020 Sheridan opened up about their sexuality in a candid essay before coming out as non-binary last year.

This came amongst a casting controversy over Sheridans role in Hedwig and The Angry Inch.

In that same year Hugh announced the separation from their fiance Kurt Roberts.

The film is set in Florida in 2011 and sees Troyes character Caleb come into contact with HIV during a one-night-stand on the eve of his high school graduation.

While he waits, he forms an unexpected relationship with another teenager in a similar situation.
