LET SHELLEY ARGENT TAKE YOUR LOVE TO CANBERRA

PFLAG Brisbane spokesperson Shelley Argent

PFLAG Brisbane spokesperson Shelley Argent is calling on anyone who wants their voice heard on marriage equality to record a video message this Saturday.

Shelley is travelling to Canberra with the Australian Marriage Equality group later this month to campaign for the reforms.

“PFLAG has a campaign going where we are getting people to come and just talk for a minute or two about marriage equality and why they want a free vote, not a plebiscite,” she said.

“The videos are going to be sent to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and put on social media.”

Anyone interested in filming a message can go to the Queensland AIDS Council building at 30 Helen Street, Newstead this Saturday from 10am. Anyone feeling nervous can read out their message, and no swearing or abuse will be included.

If you have any family photos you would like to show, bring them along and PFLAG can include them.

Shelley is also urging people to sign and share PFLAG’s Change.org petition calling for a free parliamentary vote on the issue instead of a plebiscite. The petition will also be taken to Canberra.

For more information please contact Shelley at PFLAG Brisbane via Facebook or at pflagbris@bigpond.com.
