Two gay dads have thanked Qantas boss Alan Joyce for lobbying the Prime Minister on marriage equality.

Sydney couple Sean and Chris, who on Instagram say their family comprises “two fathers, two sons, and a fur child,” posted a photo of themselves holding their two bubs on one of the airline’s planes.

“Thank you @qantas and its CEO Alan Joyce for supporting same-sex marriage here in Australia,” one of the dads wrote.

“One day I will be able to walk down the aisle holding the hands of my two sons to get married to the love of my life. This will become a reality because of your support.

“Qantas has already been part of our dream to become parents. Just last year in September we left LA with our two-month-old twin boys and arrived home to Sydney where our new lives would begin.

“We were anxious on this journey home, but were welcomed with open arms by the beautiful Qantas flight attendants.

“We dream of a future where our relationship is treated equally to all others, and our boys are never forced to question or defend their parents’ relationship.”

The couple’s photo has been liked by close to 2,000 people.

Mr Joyce was one of more than 30 business leaders to sign an open letter to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull last week, urging him to legalise marriage equality.

But Immigration Minister Peter Dutton criticised the CEOs and said they should “stick to their knitting” and focus on their own businesses and improving their customer service, singling out Mr Joyce.
