‘The L Word’ Cast Are Excited, And It Might Be Because Of A Reunion

The L Word

The cast of The L Word have shared their excitement about what could be an upcoming reunion.

The seminal queer female TV series aired from 2004 to 2009, and in the age of reboots and reunions fans have been clamoring for its group of characters living in Los Angeles to return.

It all began last weekend when the show’s co-creator Ilene Chaiken tagged most of the show’s core cast in an out-of-the-blue tweet reading “So excited! Can’t wait…!”

Kate Moennig, who played Shane, replied: “Can’t wait to be with my gals again!!”

Sarah Shahi and Jennifer Beals, who played Carmen and Bette on the show, also joined in.

Chaiken, who is now executive producer on TV series Empire, told Entertainment Weekly last year she’d “love to revisit” the series.

“We talk about it from time to time. I talk about it with some of my colleagues who were in the cast who would love to reboot it. I don’t know when,” she said.

“I’m busy and most of them are too, but I do still think that it’s a viable world in which to tell stories, and those characters are still beloved as far as I can tell.”

But in one of her tweets, actress Moennig poured cold water on talk of a full reboot.
