The Derry Girls final season trailer has arrived

Derry Girls

The trailer for the final season of Derry Girls is finally here and it’s the end for the hit show.

After three seasons the short-lived hit will come to an end this year.

But the trailer for the final season is giving us life.

Derry Girls, the final season

Since it debuted in 2018 Derry Girls has won the hearts of fans worldwide.

This simple comedy about four Irish girls and James, living in troubled times in the 1990s was a surprise hit.

After dropping on Netflix the series had fans worldwide wetting themselves with laughter.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out.

The hit show you’d be mad to miss

Claire, Michelle, Orla, and Erin live in Derry in Northern Ireland, in the mid-1990s.

Set amongst the backdrop of “The Troubles” the show follows the lives of the four girls at their strict catholic school.

Joining the four girls is James, the only male student at Our Lady Immaculate College.

Fearing he’ll be targeted by the local boys for being English James has been sent to school with his cousin and her friends.

So began a show that was equal parts hilarious and heartwarming.

Derry Girls is something special

Featuring just six episodes per season the show fits a whole lot of content in, with each of the girls bringing something special.

Michelle is loud, brash, and unashamed, the perfect juxtaposition against the dreamy and cooky Orla.

Erin and Claire are equal parts over the top and insufferably endearing.

However, Claire’s coming-out story still remains one of the highlights of the show.

Rounding out the group is James who brings the perfect balance of endearing goofy charm to the group.

Together, as they say, they are all Derry Girls.

But the show isn’t just all about the girls.

The added dynamic of Erin and Orla’s family cohabitating makes for brilliant chemistry, particularly the general disdain for Gerry, Erin’s father, held by all, especially his father-in-law.

But no one can compare to the one and only Sister Michael.

The sharp-tongued, iron-fisted headmistress of Our Lady Immaculate College brings enough laughs to the screen for us all and this season looks like no exception.

The final season of the show is expected to air later this year on Netflix in Australia, a release date has not been set.
