Sweat with Pride is back for 2026 and ready to make your Pride Month count

Sweat with Pride is officially back for 2026, inviting Australians to get moving this Pride Month while raising money for LGBTQIA+ organisations doing vital work year-round. Find out what it is all about or join them this Saturday in Newtown for a free community launch event.

After a hugely successful pilot in 2025, which saw more than 1,700 participants raise over $160,000, the 30-day fundraising challenge is returning bigger, sweatier and more fabulous than before.

More than 800 people have already signed up to take part in Sweat with Pride, proving plenty of Aussies are keen to turn their daily movement into something that actually makes a difference.

Run by Rainbow Giving Australia in partnership with ACON, Sweat with Pride challenges participants to move every day across June while fundraising for LGBTQIA+ communities.

What is Sweat with Pride?

Participants commit to 21 minutes of movement every day in June, but there’s no rule saying you need to suddenly become a marathon runner.

Walk, run, dance, swim, stretch, wheel, lift weights or dramatically powerwalk while listening to Kylie. It all counts.

You can join solo or rope in your workplace, gym buddies, sports team, friendship group or that one friend who is always threatening to join the gym.

Participants can also be guided by a drag queen trainer of their choice.

Because every fitness regime needs a bit of glitter and sass.

Why it actually matters

Beyond the endorphins and leaderboard glory, Sweat with Pride exists for a pretty important reason.

According to Rainbow Giving Australia, LGBTQIA+ organisations receive just five cents out of every $100 donated to Australian charities.

That funding gap has real consequences for services that deliver mental health support, legal help, education and social connection programs.

That is where Sweat with Pride comes in.

“Pride Month is a time to celebrate global LGBTQIA+ progress and reckon with the road ahead,” Rainbow Giving Australia’s Marketing and Engagement Manager Jake Smith said.

“Sweat with Pride is a practical, joyful way to take real action. Every dollar raised helps strengthen the organisations and services LGBTQIA+ people rely on.”

Funds raised through the challenge support Rainbow Giving Australia and ACON, helping deliver programs designed by and for LGBTQIA+ people.

Rally your crew

If you have ever wanted your workplace Pride Month activity to be more meaningful than rainbow-washed branding and cupcakes in the lunchroom, this is the moment.

Sweat with Pride is encouraging workplaces to sign up teams, with workplace groups among last year’s biggest fundraisers.

It is team bonding, movement and community fundraising all rolled into one.

Plus, every participant gets a free Pride pin just for joining.

Gorgeous.

Community launch this weekend

To celebrate the start of the 2026 challenge, Sweat with Pride is hosting a free community launch event in Newtown, Sydney, this IDAHOBIT weekend.

Attendees can expect line dancing, Big Gay Boxing, prizes, photo opportunities and a chance to learn more about how Sweat with Pride works before the challenge officially kicks off.

It is also a great opportunity to meet other participants and get yourself properly hyped for the month ahead.

The Sweat with Pride launch takes place on Saturday, May 16, from 10:30 am to 12 pm at the Inner West Pride Centre in Newtown.

Tickets are free via Humanitix, and RSVPs are highly encouraged.

Today, Sweat with Pride announced three new ambassadors joining the movement:

Actor and content creator Kath Ebbs, former AFL player and advocate Mitch Brown and speaker and culture strategist Lou Keck.

They join leading Australian workplaces, including Nine, Qantas, Macquarie Group, and Hays Recruitment, who have signed up to take part in the challenge.

How to sign up

If you can’t make it to Newtown on Saturday, you can still sign up and sweat for a great cause.
