Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is proud to celebrate its tenth anniversary when the annual event returns later this month.
“We’ve grown from a very small one-day event at the local community centre, to a three-day Festival with events happening across the weekend from Noosa to Maroochydore,” Sunshine Coast Pride Network co-chair Marj Blowers said.
“Celebrating 10 years of pride on the Sunshine Coast brings love and connectedness to our hearts. It has been wonderful to see how the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions have evolved in their inclusivity over the years.”
The theme of this year’s festival, running from February 24-26, is “Under The Rainbow,” to acknowledge that “we’re all born under the same sky and we are all equal.”
The festival begins at Villa Noosa Hotel on the Friday Night with Melony Brests’ Quiz Queen Trivia, and then on Saturday it’s the annual Fair Day at the Eumundi Markets.
This year, the Pride Paws Parade will return, with pooch pamper packs and pet portraits up for grabs. Queensland drag stars Melony Brests, Sal Monalla and special guests Holly Wood and Candy Surprise will host proceedings.
