Brisbane’s Sportsman Hotel are inviting the community to celebrate this weekend at their official Mardi Gras viewing party at the venue.
The Spring Hill venue has partnered with Mardi Gras to throw the bash the night of the Parade this Saturday night, March 5.
There’s free entry (excluding the Bunker Bar) all night, with dinner from 5.30pm and the parade streamed on the big screen and in all bars from 6:30pm.
That night, there’s live drag shows every hour from 7:30pm starring Queensland talents Sasha Trajik-Mole, Ella Va’Lay, Iona Toyboy, Peachy Keen, Shanny T-Bone, Wilhelmina Westwood and more.
Sporties has life shows planned all night, including new production Ikonik from 10:30pm in Nellie’s Showroom.
DJ Zeke will play Mardi Gras tunes in the Butch Bar from 10pm, and DJ Merlin will be in the pub’s Showroom from 10pm playing all your favourite camp classics.
And downstairs in Sporties’ Bunker Bar, leather group BootCo will host their Mardi Gras in the Bunker party.

Mardi Gras Parade is this Saturday, March 5
This year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade will again return to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on March 5.
For the first time in years, the ABC will also broadcast and livestream the Parade across Australia.
Brisbane’s Sportsman Hotel is one of the Australian venues to partner with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Facebook’s parent company Meta Australia this Mardi Gras season.
Mardi Gras and Meta awarded $100,000 in grants to 30 venues to support their viewing parties, after a horror 12 months for the hospitality industry and performers due to Covid-19.
Mardi Gras want the viewing parties to bring together the community and friends nationwide to celebrate the night of the parade.
