And Just Like That finished recently leaving fans wondering about the return of Samantha Jones and maybe even, Kim Cattrall?
With an ending that left fans guessing and no news of season two just yet, we couldn’t help wonder, what does SJP think?
Thankfully our prayers have been answered in the stars latest interview.
‘Samantha is not gone’
Sarah Jessica Parker, most famous for her role as Carrie Bradshaw sat down to chat with Andy Cohen on Bravo.
During the interview, she took the time to talk about And Just Like That and acknowledge the absence of Kim Cattrall from the reboot.
But as the series finale reminded us, Samantha Jones is far from gone.
‘Samantha is not gone,’ Parker told the host before going on.
In an interesting choice of words, she chose not to name Kim Cattrall as she continued her response.
‘The actress that played the role is no longer playing that role, but people are absent from your life when you don’t want them to be,” she stated emphatically.
She went on to acknowledge the way in which showrunner Michael Patrick King had continued to keep the character alive.
‘You know, and I thought that in typical Michael Patrick fashion, he threaded it through with grace and dignity and respect and love and affection for that character.”
But it was clear that the sting of the damaged friendship was still hanging in the air.
‘I thought it mimicked many friendships that challenge each other and struggle and want to remain connected in a way because it’s too painful,’ she said.
Whilst it was almost certain Kim Cattrall would never return, it appeared Sarah Jessica Parker was keen to keep that door closed.
Samantha, those flowers and did Carrie call 911?
The most touching moment featuring Samantha Jones came during the series first two episodes.
Despite her absence, Samantha sent a beautiful array of flowers from London.
It was a touching gesture that kept the flame of their friendship alive during the show.
The powerful moment touched all of the stars of the show.
“We were crying when we were doing it,” she recalled.
Keen not to make it all about Samantha Jones, Parker went on to discuss one of the first episodes most critical moments.
And Just Like That, Did Carrie call 911?
Fans were keen to point out that during the series first episode when Carrie discovered her husband in the bathroom she didn’t call 911.
‘Of course she called 911,’ she insisted.
However, the host pressed her, noting that perhaps fans simply wanted to see her reach for the phone.
‘That’s an understandable and logical expectation,’ she responded.
‘It’s suspended animation, this moment where everything stops and then whatever collapsing of time that happens does not stop her from taking care of somebody, in a fashion that you would want and expect from your partner, or husband or wife.’
While fans are still eager for news of season two, Kim Cattrall has moved on to new projects.
