Scotty’s Deves circus keeps rolling on – contrived controversy

Scotty’s Deves circus rolled into Western Sydney today with the Liberal candidate for Warringah raced out of a party rally by burly bodyguards despite no discernible risk to her safety. Well, other than the threat of having to answer questions from journalists.

Forgive me but I’ve been playing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Oh What A Circus’ from Evita on repeat since seeing this.

Oh what a circus, oh what a show…
Oh what an exit, that’s how to go.

Katherine Deves appeared unheralded and unannounced at today’s rally. Of course, as one of the most high profile candidates in the 2022 election, journalists noticed her in the audience. No doubt, as intended.

When the rally ended, bodyguards raced Deves out of the event with ACDC’s ‘Thunderstruck’ blaring and journalists shouting questions. What a f_cking sideshow!

The Deves circus is truly one of the most bizarre contrivances in Australian political history.

Scotty Morrison says he won’t let anyone cancel or silence his captain’s pick for the seat of Warringah. Yet, the single-issue candidate deleted thousands of her own tweets before the Liberal Party got to vet them.

And then, she shut up.

She refused to speak at a Politics in the Pub event the other night with media present. Today, she just smiled silently as journalists asked her if she stood by her past comments.

She didn’t say much but she said it loud.

Instead of government, we had a stage.

Oh yes!

Instead of ideas, a prima donna’s rage.
Instead of help, we were given a crowd.
She didn’t say much but she said it loud.

It’s all becoming increasingly transparent. From the very start of the Deves circus, some suggested Morrison was willing to sacrifice inner-city moderate Liberal MPs by using his hand-picked anti-trans candidate to dog-whistle more conservative voters.

It’s looking more and more the case. No sympathy for the losers though. They always knew which show they’d bought a ticket to.

Ernst Röhm

Katherine Deves seems to love taking a Hitler point, so let me take one of my own.

I’ve always been interested in the Ernst Röhm effect. Röhm, Hitler’s gay thug-in-chief, thought himself safe from the Nazis because of his usefulness to Hitler. But when Hitler thought Röhm was becoming too powerful, he had up to 200 of Röhm’s associates killed on the Night of the Long Knives and Röhm himself soon after.

The Liberal Night of the Long Knives is coming with an electoral slaughter of Liberal moderates predicted for the evening of May 21, 2022.

Sing, you fools, but you got it wrong.
Enjoy your prayers because you haven’t got long.
Your queen is dead, your king is through.
She’s not coming back to you.

  1. Is Katherine Deves going to run away like she did today at the liberal rally to escape hard questions from the media if she was elected to government?

We need strong political leaders not weak minded gaslighting blame shifters. So yeah, “What a f_cking sideshow” this is?
