Absence supposedly makes the heart grow fonder – not so for Ruby Rose and Phoebe Dahl.
The Orange Is The New Black star and her designer fiancé announced an amicable split, citing the travel required by their professional lives forcing them to spend too much time apart.
“When I booked Orange, I thought things were going to change a little bit and I’d be a little busier, but obviously I underestimated it,” Rose, 29, told People.
“Phoebe remains very dear to my heart,” she tweeted. I will forever treasure our time together.
“I’m a better person because of the time we shared. They say, ‘it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.’
“I’m lucky to have had the chance to love her.”
Dahl, 27, also confirmed the split, providing a statement to Us Weekly.
“After two wonderful years together, Ruby and I have decided to part ways.
“While we still love each other and support each other in every way, it is our mutual decision to part ways.”
The couple, who were spotted strolling hand in hand along Sydney’s Bondi Beach only last month, were engaged in March 2014.
