Spotify Gay Pride Playlists - Lady Gaga and Troye Sivan

Music streaming service Spotify has revealed the top 20 songs on its users’ dedicated Gay Pride playlists.

That company announced that its users had created over 975,000 Pride and LGBTQ-themed playlists on its service.

Listening spiked “when same sex marriage was legalized in the US and Italy respectively,” Spotify said.

They’ve crunched the numbers and found that the top 20 songs featured on Pride playlists globally are:

1. Lady Gaga ­- Born This Way
2. Britney Spears – Toxic
3. Drake ­- One Dance
4. Nicki Minaj ­- Starships
5. Kesha ­- Die Young
6. Britney Spears ­- Work Bitch
7. American Authors ­- Pride
8. Cher ­- Believe
9. Diana Ross ­- I’m Coming Out
10. Fifth Harmony ­- Work from Home
11. Lady Gaga ­- Applause
12. Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande ­- Bang Bang
13. Spice Girls ­- Wannabe
14. Britney Spears ­- …Baby One More Time
15. Lady Gaga ­- Bad Romance
16. Beyoncé ­- Crazy In Love
17. Rihanna ­- Work
18. Nicki Minaj ­- Anaconda
19. Katy Perry ­- Dark Horse

The list of songs that featured the most on Australian Spotify users’ Pride playlists, however, was a little different:

To celebrate Pride Month around the world, Spotify has also created a dedicated category called #PressPlayForPride, accessible on the service.

The category brings together curated playlists with personal commentary from LGBTI-identifying artists and advocates including Aussie singer Troye Sivan, actor Alan Cumming, pop duo Tegan and Sarah, Eurovision star Conchita Wurst and more, covering a wide range of music genres.
