Registrations are now open for Adelaide Pride March

Registrations are now open for South Australia’s biggest celebration of Pride, as Pride March Adelaide hits the East End in November.

It’s never too early to start ironing your pride flags as Pride Adelaide calls for you to grab the glitter pen and mark your calendar for Pride March 2026.

And this year, for the first time, Pride March Adelaide has been backed by funding from the South Australian Government.

“That’s huge for us,” said Pride Adelaide Chair Dave Newman. “For the first time in our 23 years, the South Australian Government is backing Pride March with real, ongoing funding. It means this march has a future, not just a next year.”

“Pride March is where all of that comes together. It’s the one day a year our whole community, and everyone who stands with us, walks down the streetside by side and says we’re here, we’re proud, and we’re not going anywhere.

“Especially this year, with everything going on, marching together has never mattered more. If you’ve ever thought about joining us, this is the year to actually do it.”

At this year’s Pride Gala, Minister for Human Services Katrine Hildyard announced an $80,000 commitment to the Adelaide Pride March.

$20,000 a year for the next four years gives this event something it’s never had before: guaranteed, ongoing government support.

That’s not a small thing. It means Pride March isn’t just surviving year to year on goodwill and volunteer hours; it now has real backing behind it for years to come.

For a community event that’s been fighting for visibility since it began, this is a genuine milestone, and it deserves to be celebrated.

Pride March Adelaide has become one of the state’s most visible celebrations of diversity, bringing together thousands of people each year to celebrate, connect and stand proudly as a community. And this year, they are planning the loudest, proudest, most joyful march ever.

Individuals, community groups, businesses, sporting clubs, schools, choirs and everyone in between are invited to register to be part of the march. It’s free, and you can find out more information here.

With so much noise in the world, Pride has never been more vital

Reflecting on the past year, Pride Adelaide couldn’t be prouder of the visibility of South Australia’s LGBTQIA+ communities continuing to shine.

They have just come off the most successful Pride Gala in history, and a couple of months later, thousands packed out Adelaide Gaol for the inaugural Big Gay Night Markets.

“Off the back of the Gala and the Night Markets, the energy in our community right now is electric,” Newman said.

Adelaide Pride March traces back to Adelaide’s first Proud Parade fifty-one years ago.

It’s free, it’s for absolutely everyone, and it belongs to every person who turns up to walk it. If you’ve got a group, a banner, a costume idea, or just two feet and a bit of sparkle, there is a place for you.

“With so much noise in the world right now, and plenty of it landing right here in Adelaide, showing up together in public, arm in arm, isn’t just a nice thing to do. It’s the point.” Pride Adelaide said.

“Pride March has always been about visibility and solidarity, and in 2026 that message needs saying louder than it’s ever been said. So bring your people. Bring your flag. Bring your whole, loud, glorious self, and let’s walk through the East End together.”
