Rainbow River Festival Returning To Noosa In March

The all-inclusive Rainbow River Festival will return to Noosa next month for its second-ever event on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

“After the success of last year’s Festival, we’re excited to build an even bigger, more fabulous community event for 2017,” festival director Kirsty Patten said.


“The weekend of festivities kicks off with sunset cocktails on Friday carries through the weekend and culminates in a family-friendly picnic and Pink Flamingo-themed River Parade.

“Come along, be flirty, be daring and definitely be fabulous!”

The festival commences at the Noosa Yacht Club at 4:30pm Friday 17 March evening with welcome sunset cocktails overlooking the stunning Noosa River before moving on to the Villa Noosa where Noosa’s resident Drag Queen, Melony Brests will be dropping her balls in her famous Melony’s Drag Queen Bingo.

On Saturday, March 18, Melony will host “The Pink Stiletto” walking rally from 11 to 1pm, with a special prize for the winner.

On Saturday night all are invited to the V Room at the Villa Noosa for a night of Rainbow River Festival entertainment hosted by Melony, with performances including The Powder Puff Girls, Gambler and the Angela Toohey Trio.

On Sunday 19 March everyone is invited to gather from 10am for a BYO picnic in the park alongside Noosa River before joining the main event, the River Parade, at midday. Hire a boat, bring your own or join the official Rainbow Party boat for a two hour fun-filled adventure up and down the scenic Noosa River and canals.

Farewell drinks will be held at the stylish Red on Thomas bar on Gympie Terrace and Noosa will extend an warm invitation for you to return next year and do it all again.

Ms Patten said the Noosaville Business Association, Noosa Council and Tourism Noosa had all gotten gotten behind the event, and she thanked them for their support.
