Falls Creek Alpine Resort is wrapping up its ski season for the year, and with drag, pride and sparkles, the team from Queer Ski Week are bringing the party to close it out.
Spring has officially sprung.
With the snow and ski season winding down, Falls Creek has announced that Sunday will be their final week of lift operations for the season.
“We wish we could keep it going longer,” the team said on socials.
“Closing day of lift operations is now scheduled for Sunday 6 September, but there’s still time to join us for a few final turns and soak up those alpine views before the last chair.”
Luckily, the team from Queer Ski Week are on the mountain and are set to make sure you enjoy every last minute.

“While the skiing hasn’t been the best it could, we’ve been having a great social time.” Bryan from Queer Ski Week told QNews.
“Karaoke was a hit during the week with an emo theme, and everyone is really excited for drag queen DJ Clitterally to arrive.”
With the close of the season lining up with the Queer Ski Week program, it’s created a perfect way for the mountain to go out with a bang.

Queers always bring the party
When it was announced earlier in the year that Gay Ski Week Australia would not be going ahead, a group of attendees and behind-the-scenes crew decided to try and salvage the season.
They got together, inspired by social ski gatherings overseas, and decided to do their bit and bring pride to the slopes.
Thus, Queer Ski Week was born.
A week at Falls Creek with a simple mission: bring amazing people together on the mountain, have a great time, and celebrate the community we love.

While the team had to reshuffle their planned events due to the weather, there is still plenty of fun to be had.
Friday night, Cliterally will host bingo at the Powder Keg and will then DJing Apres on Saturday.
Depending on the conditions, the team will hit the slopes one last time for a Rainbow Run on Sunday.
Then Cliterally will hit the decks at Powder Keg to round things out for the last lifts.

What a way to round out the season
The Queer Ski Week team have loved bringing rainbow and pride to the mountain.
“It’s been really fabulous,” Bryan said. “The community have been absolutely loving it. We already have people asking about what dates we are planning to come in 2027.”
“It’s a great way to wrap things up on the mountain. The local community are really getting behind us and is excited for our events. It’s a great way to bring a burst of queer joy to the season’s final week.”
The lifts are still running until Sunday at Falls Creek. So why not make your way to the mountain and get one last bite of the season.
The team from Queer Ski Week will make sure you have a great time as the sun sets on the final run.
