RED Run Fun Run
When Saturday 28 November
Time from 6.45am
Where New Farm Park
Join the 5km fun run along the curves of the Brisbane River around New Farm Park on Saturday 28th November.

The RED Run is FREE and open to everyone, runners and non-runners, children and even your furry friends. All participants are invited to dress in RED (the redder the better), with a prize for best dressed. All funds raised on the day will be donated THE HOPE Fund which provides support to people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Queensland who are in need.

The event will commence at New Farm Park Ferry Terminal and follow the curves of the Brisbane River from the south east perimeter of New Farm Park, past the Powerhouse Park and along to Teneriffe. The run will be begin at 7am, with runners meeting from 6.45am for warm up.

Host a Meal That Matters
When 1 December

It’s time to dust off the good linens, break out the special cutlery and get out that bottle of red you’ve been saving. Host a meal that matters this World AIDS Day and you’ll help to stop the spread of HIV within Australia as well as supporting people who are already living with HIV. Hosting a meal can be as simple as a work morning tea with your colleagues, a backyard BBQ, or an elaborate formal affair.

How to host!
Simply register and you will be sent a fundraiser packs with information, posters and meal suggestions for your Red-themed bash.

Raising funds!
Your meal will have a personalised fundraising page which you can share on social media or send to the friends that you invite. If people can’t make it to your meal, just share the link to your event with them so that they can still contribute.

World AIDS Day Candelight Vigil

You are invited to participate in an intrinsic part of World AIDS Day activities – the Candlelight Vigil. Held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday December 1 at Reddacliff Place, 266 George Street, Brisbane, this important event is an opportunity for us to stop and remember all those we have loved and lost since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This event is open to all – admission is free and bookings are not required.

Red Ribbon merchandise will be available at ACON Northern Rivers, 27 Uralba Street, Lismore and at selected businesses throughout the Northern Rivers. On Tue 1 Dec, volunteers will be selling Red Ribbon merchandise at the Lismore Shopping Square and downtown Lismore, Byron Bay and Ballina. FREE workshop for people with HIV. This year’s workshop will focus on HIV and mental health with a presentation by Ruth Hennessy from the Albion Centre followed by an interactive peer led discussion. TRANSMISSION FILM SCREENING Sat 21 Nov / Pighouse Flicks / Byron Bay / 5pm

FREE screening of a documentary that captures the profound changes spanning the past three decades in Australia’s and Cambodia’s response to the AIDS epidemic. 5pm canape reception and 6pm screening followed by a Q&A with the film’s producer as well as local and national HIV activists.
