Controversial comedian Kathy Griffin won’t be shying away from her recent run-in with US President Donald Trump during her upcoming Australian tour.
The US comedian and actress Kathy Griffin has a reputation for skewering celebrities and in May, a photo of her holding up a model of Mr Trump’s bloodied, severed head caused an international uproar and saw her sacked from her New Year’s Eve co-hosting gig on US television.
Now Griffin will tell the whole story on her trip to Australia in October to perform four shows, including Brisbane for the first time. The Aussie gigs in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth are part of her provocatively-titled “Laugh Your Head Off” world tour.
“Who knew? One photo that sparked a conversation led to offers from around the world. So I look forward to making audiences laugh, telling them the whole sordid, ridiculous, but hilarious, story,” she said.
“My show isn’t for the faint of heart, so leave your kids at home. My motto is ‘funny first’. But don’t worry, we’ve got some serious smack-talking to do about everything and everyone, with love, of course.”
Kathy Griffin will perform at QPAC on October 23. For tickets visit the QPAC website.
