Puppy drags Gogglebox’s Wayne and Tom back to reality after horror year

To pinch the words of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, 2016 was an “annus horribilis” for Googlebox favourites Wayne and Tom.

The cocktail swilling gay couple are hoping the return of the TV-critiquing hit show will allow them to forget the health issues and Wayne’s forced redundancy which rocked their year.

Things are already looking up thanks largely to the newest addition to their home – a pint-sized puppy called Brandy Snaps.

“The most important thing (so far this year) is we got a new puppy,” Tom told the Daily Telegraph.

“Her name is Brandy Snaps because all our dogs are named after drag queens.”

Nicknaming the caramel cocker spaniel cross poodle “Wigglebum”, the little puppy is the couple’s third dog.

The two funny men recently took to their Instagram account to debut Brandy Snaps to their 11,000 followers.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Brandy to the main stage!” they captioned their photo.

“She enjoys biting and peeing on things, just like her daddy.”

Both men are eager for the new TV ratings year to begin, with Wayne most looking forward to the return of My Kitchen Rules (“I think there’s going to be some very interesting characters this year, like that angry, angry man”) while Tom is excited about Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, purring: “Who doesn’t like to look at that hot Dr Chris Brown on TV?”

Brandy Snaps will be introduced live to fans when Gogglebox returns on Wednesday, February 15, on Foxtel’s LifeStyle (then Thursday, on Ten).
