Optus proudly supports the Australian LGBTIQ community through their membership of the Diversity Council of Australia, Pride in Diversity and their corporate membership of GLOBE (Gay and Lesbian Organisation of Business and Enterprise), which is affiliated with Queensland’s Pride Business Network.
Chris Hamze from Optus Newstead told QN Magazine, “It’s important our customers know they have our support locally in our own neighbourhood, as well as nationally.
“That’s why we at Optus Newstead go the extra mile with initiatives like supporting the Brisbane Pride Festival in New Farm Park each year.
“2018 was our tenth year at Pride Fair Day and we provided mobile charging stations and gave away 60 kilograms of lollies.
“We’re currently planning what we can do to top that in 2019. We’ll certainly be wearing our Optus Pride uniform t-shirts with the Optus logo over a Rainbow Flag background.
“We wear them instore but they’re also great for showing our support out in the community.”
Right now, Optus Newstead are focused on the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10.
“Galaxy S10 and S10+ are a significant upgrade on their predecessors,” said Chris, “with in-display fingerprint sensors, rear-mounted triple camera setups and reverse wireless charging support.
“Also, Samsung have added an ‘affordable’ model to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S line-up, the Galaxy S10e.”
Chris said Optus Newstead has both dedicated iPhone and Samsung specialists in-store.
“Our customers should have the phone that best suits their individual needs, so we have in-house consultants who specialise in both iPhone and Samsung mobile devices,” he said.
