Concluded: Police Exclusion Zone in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley

Queensland Police this afternoon revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an incident at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. The above map displays the exclusion zone. The incident concluded after the arrest of a man.

Police arrested the man and revoked the emergency declaration after locking down multiple Fortitude Valley streets as they attempted to make contact with a man following a disturbance.

The incident began after a call to Gregory Terrace just after 1.10 pm.

Avoid area

The exclusion zone included parts of Gregory Terrace, Anderson Street, Diggles Close, Water Street and Brunswick Street.

Police advisd members of the public to avoid the area.

Remain indoors

Those within the exclusion zone were asked to remain indoors and limit movement until further notice.

Police said the declaration of the exclusion zone followed a disturbance in the area. Specialist police were in the area attempting to make contact with an individual.
