An estimated 20,000 women including Lady Gaga converged on California at the end of March for ‘The Dinah’, the world’s biggest lesbian pool party.
The women gathered for five days of sun, sex, pool parties and live music.
The festival takes place in Palm Springs in the California desert from March 30 to April 3.
Apparently, nudity is common.
“Flashing is normal.
“I get flashed at a lot.
“Random girls pulling you into their hotel rooms are also pretty standard.”
Lady Gaga also attended this year. She came to watch her friend Katherine Moennig spin a DJ set.
Katherine played Shane on the lesbian drama The L Word.
However Katherine was not the only actor from the show on site.
Clementine Ford, Elizabeth Keener, Tracy Ryerson, Amanda Leigh Dunn and Hunter Valentine, also turned up and performed a farewell show for their fans.
Samantha Ronson and Orange is the New Black star Lea DeLaria were also in attendance.
Despite the number of celebrities the party also featured trailblazing DJs, some of them transgender.
Organisers named the event for famous golfer Dinah Shore, despite her heterosexuality.
A prestigious golf tournament also named after Dinah attracted large numbers of queer women to the town.
However, those women wanted some fun in their downtime from the golf.
Because of that the Dinah Shore women’s festival came into being.
Mariah Hanson, founder of The Dinah, said she created the event because of a real need.
“There’ll always be a need for gay people to come together and congregate.
“The message is always the same.
“Here’s a space for you to celebrate your life, live out loud, and simply love.”
The world’s largest lesbian pool party
There may be lots of famous people in attendance, but there’s also others happy for mere infamy.

Mariah Hanson said despite the hard work, the party enthused her.
“I keep on hearing how this was the best Dinah yet, which of course puts a huge smile on my face.
“I’m proud of my staff.
“They all execute the administrative part of the weekend with such grace even when under pressure.
“Of course, I’m also grateful and thankful to our incredibly wonderful and appreciative customers who remind us of exactly why we do what we do.
“The magic of The Dinah is undeniable and irreplaceable. I’m so moved and touched; I am already planning for next year – bigger and better!”
The Dinah is over for 2016.
However, it’s on again in 2017.
