It’s official, another version of Drag Race is set to hit our screens, this time Drag Race is heading to the Philippines.
After announcements of continuous international versions of the program, it comes as no surprise.
The Philippines will become the ninth country to host its own version of the program.
This will become the second drag TV show for the Philippines
Interestingly the announcement comes not long after Drag Race star Manila Luzon announced her own drag show for the Philippines.
Casting for Luzon’s program Drag Den is currently underway, however, World of Wonder have also put out the call for applications for their version of Drag Race.
Taking to Instagram this week the production company put out the call for applicants to apply online.
Calling on applicants to put forward their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent indicates filming could likely take place this year.
There has yet to be an announcement on an air date for the program.
Will Rupaul Host Drag Race Philippines?
It’s unclear as to whether or not mother Ru will be making her way to the Philippines for this spinoff.
With so many international versions of the program filming, it’s hard to imagine Rupaul has any time left.
Despite appearing in the promotional video the chances of her hosting this one are slim.
Outside of Drag Race US so far Rupaul has only appeared as host on both UK and Australian versions of the franchise.
All other spin-offs have assigned to local hosts.
Whilst Thailand and other countries have assigned local hosts, Canada had Drag Race star Brook Lynn Hytes installed as a judge.
While Manila Luzon is already on air it could be a possibility that other Drag Race stars may be asked to serve as hosts.
