Former Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza has come out as bisexual.
In a recent interview with The Advocate, the actress revealed that not only does she enjoy the support of LGBTQ community, but she also belongs to it.
“I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy,” Aubrey said.
“Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.”
Aubrey’s bisexuality is no big surprise to her fanbase, as she has lesbian roles before. She starred in the film Addicted To Fresno alongside Orange Is The New Black actress Natasha Lyonne.
Aubrey noted she takes the love from her LGBTQ fans as the ultimate compliment.
“I mean, it makes sense to me. I feel like I operate in an old-school way that only gays truly understand,” she said.
“My tastes are like an older gay man’s, and I think that’s who I really am. Like, I grew up obsessed with Judy Garland, and I was also obsessed with how much she meant to her following.”
The actress also noted that having a gay aunt and gay uncle made it easy for her family to support her.
“I grew up thinking that everyone had a gay aunt or uncle. My younger sister is a lesbian, so it’s just in my blood, I guess,” she said.
