Lights, models, guest list… Just do your best darling! Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley recently announced that the much rumoured Ab Fab movie is indeed going to happen.
She said production is scheduled to begin in October.
Lumley, who plays the vodka loving fashion magazine editor Patsy Stone, told UK breakfast show ‘This Morning’ that the script for the Ab Fab movie is ready and it is “ravishingly funny”
“We are all there, the same old gang.
“Lots of people you will have seen in it before, I think we are going down to the south of France to do some of the shooting there.”
“It’ll all be shot on location. It is going to be ravishingly funny! Very gorgeous… and completely fabulous!”
Lumley also added that she may now need some help with Patsy’s infamous beehive hair style.
“I usually use my own hair, and that’s usually for one show a week in front of an audience,” she explained. “But when you’re shooting for seven or eight weeks every day, I think I’ll give it a bit of a break.”
Absolutely Fabulous originally ran from 1992-1996 and then again from 2001-2004. Since that time a number of special episodes have also been filmed, including a London Olympics special in 2012.
All old faves in Ab Fab Movie
Lumley’s co-star Jennifer Saunders wrote the script. She said to expect all the old favourites.
“All the main characters and virtually everyone that’s ever been in the series” will show up in the movie.
