QN Magazine took cover model Daniel Pasquali out to Nundah Suzuki to check out the Suzuki Jimny — designed to go from motorways to mountain ranges, the all new Jimny goes anywhere and everywhere, places only Jimny can.
With all the small SUV off-road pretenders on the market, the Suzuki is a stand-out with proven all-terrain grunt.
Despite that it’s still a great town car with cool retro styling making Suzuki’s reborn icon a perfect choice for folks who live in town but require go-anywhere ability from their vehicle.
Uncompromising features define the Jimny including a robust ladder frame, 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil springs, selectable 4WD with a low-range transfer case and impressive entry and departure angles.
“This is the car I need,’ said Daniel, “I’m a city boy but take off out bush to go camping here and there.
“This is perfect for my weekends away throughout the year.”
“I love the retro look — retro with a modern touch — compact and sleek — and completely on trend right now.”
More power, better economy
There’s a 1.5 litre engine in the all new Jimny, delivering stronger torque and enhancing driving performance.
The stronger torque levels are delivered right across the rev band with plenty of tap at low revs; essential for serious off-road performance.
The interior width is 1300mm, with flat folding rear seats allowing the luggage area to be tailored in configurations ranging from 59 to 377 litres to accommodate different loads (377 litres is with luggage box removed).
The cabin instruments and controls are all within easy access and are designed to enable you to focus on driving. Controls are modern, functional, robust and designed for quick and easy operation.
Daniel also loved the interior design.
“It’s spacious and the leather steering wheel adds a great look to the car. It added a real feeling of luxury to the interior and the seats were extremely comfortable.”
“The tech is great too. I can’t live without connectivity and the Jimny has support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.”
“I love the retro simplicity. It’s a cool fun car but with gutsy off-road chops. The Jimny is funky and it’s functional. And the price is a real winner too. It’s really affordable for what the car offers.”
Nundah Suzuki have the Jimney for $23,990 Manual or $25,990 Auto, both plus On Road Costs. Metallic paint is an extra $500 or 2-Tone $1250.
If the Suzuki Jimny sounds like what you’re after, don’t delay. Suzuki Australia have already sold the initial 1,100 cars allocated to Australia and the huge demand means it’s time to get your name on the waiting list now for the next batch of cars due March 2020.
Book a test drive of the Suzuki Jimny now at Nundah Suzuki at 1308 Sandgate Road, Nundah. Contact Owen on (07) 3635 5103 or visit the website here.
