Nominations are now open for The 11th Proud Awards

Nominations have now opened for Perth’s LGBTIQA+ entertainment and community awards night, The Proud Awards. Who are you nominating?

The 11th Annual Proud Awards will take place in September, hosted by drag icon and RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under and VS The World superstar Hannah Conda.

The awards celebrate Perth’s LGBTQI+ performers and community and will take place at Connections Nightclub.

For over a decade, The Proud Awards have honoured WA’s best and brightest, and with nominations now open, who do you think deserves recognition for their talent or work and should stand in the spotlight?

Here are the nomination categories

You can nominate for Perth’s Favourite Drag King or Queen.

As well as Best New Drag Talent. This is someone who has been doing drag for three years or less.

They must have performed at Drag Factory, Dragathon or Cherry Bomb regularly or work as a performer and/or host in room theatre at Perth LGBTQI+ venues and events.

Who would you pick for Perth’s Favourite DJ?

And don’t forget about Perth’s Favourite Event.

This can be a fundraiser, weekly, monthly, annually or otherwise regular event for the Perth LGBTQI+ community. That’s a pretty broad range, so be sure to give your fav event some love.

Put forward who you think deserves to be named Perth’s Favourite LGBTQIA+ Burlesque Performer.

And don’t forget about Variety Show of the Year.

This can be any show performed outside of the traditional nightclub drag show. Think cabaret, fringe, circus, comedy, burlesque or boylesque, and even theatre.
