Nominate your community heroes now for the 2019 Queens Ball Awards

Queens Ball Awards drag queens

Nominations are now open for this year’s Queens Ball Awards, one of the world’s longest-running LGBTIQ events.

The 59th annual Queens Ball Awards will be held at Brisbane City Hall on June 15, and seventeen community awards are on offer this year with nominations open until Friday, April 26.

Nominations for each award can be submitted through the Brisbane Pride Festival website. The Brisbane Pride Festival committee have asked for information to be included about your chosen nominee and why they deserve to be recognised with a Queens Ball Award.

“Now is the time to submit your votes for individuals, groups and organisations within our community who work hard to represent, assist, support and entertain us each year,” the Brisbane Pride committee said.

“Upon close of nominations an independent committee comprising two members of the Brisbane Pride Festival Board and two members of Brisbane’s LGBTIQ community will meet to review nominees and select finalists for the 2019 awards.”

Public voting for finalists will open within the first two weeks of May. The awards will be presented at the 59th Annual Queens Ball Awards, held at Brisbane City Hall on Saturday June 15. Tickets will go on sale soon.
