After a sell out show in Perth, Sydney pop artist Nigel Sense has brought his larrikin wit to Brisbane in a series of pop art paintings.
Currently on display at Brisbane Modern Art Gallery, Sense works in a neo pop manner, and like the pop artists of the 1960’s he has turned mass reproduction and the influence of the mass media into subject matter.
His works have adopted the language of pop culture and as a post-modern painter; he has a lot to say! It is not just the paintings but his cheeky titles and idioms that are often embedded into his work.
Sense’s will be exhibiting at Brisbane Modern Art Gallery, 483 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley until 12 December. Catalogue available online brisbanemodernart.com.au
