An adorable Australian grandmother has explained why she’s voting “yes” in the same-sex marriage postal survey.

In a video by Australian Marriage Equality, Jean explains her youngest granddaughter is in a same-sex relationship.

“My youngest granddaughter has grown into a very loyal, very kind, loving girl, and I’m so proud of her,” she says.

“It’s very important to say ‘yes’ to make them happy.

“It will obviously make me very happy if Gabby and Rosie are happy and settled and married, and that’s what I want for them.

“I don’t know what more I can do to help them, only to talk to people.”

In the video, Nanna Jean announces: “Hello world, Nan’s out!

“We’re going to post a letter, a very important letter! Everybody vote “Yes”!”

Voters across the country are strongly encouraged to post their survey forms back by October 27, before the final deadline on November 7.

The result will be announced on November 15.
