MUSIC HOT GOSS – June 2015

A day in the life of Britney Spears often includes painting topless to Mariah Carey’s music, so says Britney Spears. She told Australian radio hosts Dan & Maz about her love of Mariah. “I was painting in my room,” she explained. “I have an art room and I just paint on the walls and do all this kind of crazy stuff. I bought her greatest hits and new Infinity record yesterday and I was just in there with my top off just painting and doing all this artsy-fartsy stuff.” Mariah released the ambitiously-titled album #1 to Infinity on May 18. Britney, currently on a break from her Las Vegas residency, recently took to the stage with Iggy Azalea at the Billboard Music Awards to perform their atrocious collaboration “Pretty Girls”.

Maroon 5 hunk Adam Levine has dropped both a new single and his towel, flashing his ass in the video for the somewhat radio-unfriendly “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf—er”. The video, following lead singer Adam’s backstage rituals, was filmed during a concert in the UK in May. The single is the band’s latest from their 2014 album V.

Globe-conquering Aussie drag queen Courtney Act has collaborated with local “Black and Gold” talent Sam Sparro and Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears on her new EP, titled Kaleidoscope, Billboard reported. Late last month Courtney released the first taste of the EP, the dance track “Ecstasy,” and she told Billboard the track was inspired by a euphoric night of dancing at the US festival Burning Man in the Nevada desert. A friend attending with her “described it as a religious experience, and I agree,” Courtney said. Last year, she came in third on the sixth season of drag juggernaut Rupaul’s Drag Race, and she was the first overseas queen to ever compete on the show. Courtney’s EP Kaleidoscope is expected in July.

In April, Olivia Newton-John and John Farnham thrilled audiences around the country with their joint Two Strong Hearts Tour, which saw both local music legends dig into their back catalogues for a set-list of both solo songs and collaborative duets. Now the duo are gearing up to release a live album of the show, recorded in Melbourne and featuring everything from “You’re The Voice” to “You’re The One That I Want”. “It’s a perfect blend of songs,” Olivia said. “The show just flowed so well. We do duets and sing parts of each other’s songs as well as our own. It was a wonderful experience.” Two Strong Hearts Live will be released  June 26, and is available to pre-order now.
