Save the date! Victoria’s Pride Street Party returns on February 7, 2027.
Since 2022, the event has been held as part of the annual Midsumma Festival celebrations. Established by Labor, the Street Party has fast become a Melbourne summertime institution.
Minister for Equality Steve Dimopoulos joined Midsumma Festival CEO and Creative Director Karen Bryant in announcing the street party as part of a full program of the statewide celebration of LGBTIQA+ communities, Victoria’s Pride.

The summer street event draws more than 65,000 people together on Gertrude and Smith Streets in Fitzroy to enjoy LGBTQIA+ arts, music and culture.
The event has become a vibrant cornerstone of Victoria’s summer, a powerful place of visibility, joy and collective belonging.
It welcomes LGBTQIA+ communities, families, friends and allies to gather in the heart of the city’s inner north in powerful unity. Local cafes, bars and restaurants step out into the street with shopfront activations and serve food and drink.

Victoria’s Pride Street Party is the finale of months of regional pride events delivered in partnership with Midsumma, Australia’s leading LGBTIQA+ arts and cultural organisation.
“We’re looking forward to bringing all of that energy together at Victoria’s Pride Street Party on Sunday 7 February, as we close Midsumma Festival with a huge statewide celebration in Melbourne,” Bryant said.
Last year, the Victorian Greens called on the state Government to commit to funding the Pride Street Party in 2027 and beyond, with the initial funding for the event coming to an end.
The Carroll Labor Government recently invested two more years of funding for Victoria’s Pride in the 2026-27 State Budget to ensure Victoria’s Pride remains a staple of the state’s events calendar until February 2028.
