‘Men Into Men Need to Know’ helps men take charge of their sexual health

Men Into Men Need to Know is a bold national campaign from Emen8 empowering all gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men to talk openly, taking charge of their sexual health.

The campaign is shaped in consultation with the community, using everyday storytelling and imagery of queer life to deliver its message in a relevant way.

Men Into Men Need to Know launches alongside a refreshed brand identity and the new tagline for the website, Sexual Health Is Yours’.

The campaign invites gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, cis and trans, who are new to Australia, new to the community, or under 35 to learn about sexual health and keeping themselves and their partners safe.

The new campaign comes from Emen8, a national sexual health education initiative specifically for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men.

It is produced in partnership between two of Australia’s leading organisations specialising in HIV education, prevention and support, ACON in NSW and Thorne Harbour Health in Victoria.

“Emen8 delivers vital sexual health and HIV prevention messages to our communities in a way that is engaging, accessible and culturally-relevant,” said ACON CEO Michael Woodhouse.

“When people feel seen and understood, they are more likely to adopt strategies and seek out services that improve their health and wellbeing.”

Emen8 is supported by the Australian Centre for Disease Control.

“The campaign uses storytelling and imagery developed through extensive community consultation to ensure that diverse audiences see themselves authentically represented in public health messaging,” Thorne Harbour Health CEO Chad Hughes said

“Focusing on those who are new to the community or new to the country helps ensure information to prevent HIV are reaching those who need them most.”
