Matildas captain Sam Kerr has confirmed the rumours she’s dating US soccer player Kristie Mewis, after the pair were spotted together in Tokyo.
The 27-year-old, who heads the Australian women’s national soccer team, and Kristie made it Instagram official on Monday.
Sam shared a Polaroid photo of the pair kissing each other to Instagram. She tagged Kristie in the post with a red heart emoji.
Kristie also shared a selfie with Sam on her own Instagram Stories on Monday.
The Matildas sadly missed out on a medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Last week, the Matildas lost 4-3 to the US women’s team, denying them the bronze.

After the devastating loss in Tokyo, Sam and Kristie were photographed in a touching embrace on the field after the match.
Many of the soccer star’s fans called it days ago, as soon as they saw the post-match photos.

Sam Kerr split with girlfriend before Tokyo Olympics
Before the Tokyo Olympics, Sam reportedly split from her longtime partner, US soccer player Nikki Stanton.
The pair met as teammates when she was playing in the US seven years ago.
During the Tokyo matches, Sam officially became the Matildas’ all-time record goalscorer.
