The producers of the hit ABC dating documentary series Love on the Spectrum have announced they’re casting for a whole new project.
While the new show is still untitled, it’s again a dating docuseries. But this time it’s about single people who are interested in dating but have never gone on a date.
“For this series, we’re wanting to tell the stories of people who tend to be under represented when it comes to dating on television,” the producers explain.
“This could mean people who identify as LGBTIQ+. It could mean people from different cultural backgrounds. Or it could mean people living with disability.
“It could mean people whose appearance is different to what we tend to see on dating shows filmed on islands.”
In the application, producers said they ‘d be interested in someone working through their gender identity or sexuality.
Or someone who hasn’t dated due to body or image confidence issues, or condition they feel has held them back.
“We do aim to be inclusive. If you haven’t yet dated and are interested in this experience please get in touch and say hello,” the producers explained.
“We are also looking for people who are interested in meeting one of our main participants for a date.
“We will always do our best to pair people up with a good match. So if you’re up for a fun and positive experience, feel free to write in to us.
“Any initial contact with us is very informal.
“Our series will feature a diverse range of people from all walks of life.
“We aim to make an honest and insightful documentary series telling the stories of people we don’t see enough of on our screens.”

Producers made ABC and Netflix hit ‘Love on the Spectrum’
The new project is from the same team as Love on the Spectrum (above), which premiered on ABC in 2019.
That series followed young adults on the autism spectrum as they dive into the dating pool and navigate the unpredictable world of love and relationships.
Two seasons of the heartwarming docuseries aired on the ABC, and was praised for tackling stigma surrounding autism.
Then in 2020, the series got global attention when Netflix picked it up. It’s available to stream on Netflix on ABC iview.
