Madonna released a short film titled “Her-Story” to mark International Women’s Day this week.

The 12 minute black and white extravaganza, which Madonna posted to her Facebook page, is a collaboration between her, Vogue Germany and photographers/directors Luigi & Lango.

The film features an all-female cast playing many different roles and Madge wrote on Facebook the film is dedicated to “all women who fight for freedom!”

“Welcome to the revolution of love, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny,” she says in a voiceover.

“Where not just women but all marginalized people where being uniquely different might truly be considered a crime.”

International Women’s Day is held on March 8 every year to celebrate and promote the rights and achievements of women, and this year’s theme was “#BeBoldForChange”.
