After what has seemed like mere weeks, The White Lotus’ Lukas Gage is engaged to his boyfriend, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton.
After quickly progressing through the stages of soft-launching their relationship via Instagram, before declaring their love on The Drew Barrymore show, the pair are taking their relationship to the next level.
During his appearance on the show, Drew asked the actor about his libido lately, to which he replied was “pretty good”.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “Very much in love, and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special.
“Love is a really special thing, and I think meeting someone you connect with is really, really special so.”
In a later appearance on The Today Show, Lukas revealed that the feelings were very much mutual.
“I feel very happy, very lucky and very much in love,” Lukas said.
“He’s a good-looking man. Something about being in London, I got a taste of the Brits and couldn’t help myself.”
Blink and you’ll miss it
The engagement reportedly comes as a surprise to many of those close to the pair.
However, friends and family aren’t the only ones shocked by the announcement.

Lukas Gage is an open book (for the most part)
In truth, though the public timeline of the pair’s relationship has been confusing, the two have done well to keep their relationship close to their chests so far.
This could relate to Lukas’ personal philopshy, which he reveals in one interview, problematising the culture of “knowing everybody’s business”:
“I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture of everyone needing to know everybody’s business and nothing can be sacred,” he says.
“It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.”
Sacred or not, we’re excited to see what the future has in store for Hollywood’s newest power couple.
