La Soiree is a theatrical phenomenon which has won devoted fans all over the world. Offering a unique and inspirational night of live entertainment, LA SOIRÉE’s heady cocktail of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety is the crème de la crème of the cabaret world.
There show was a hit in Brisbane last year, and this year’s show is not to be missed as La Soiree introduces the newest members of its dysfunctional family to the public alongside very dear old friends.
QPAC’s Playhouse will be specially reconfigured for the show, allowing every audience member to be right up close to the stage, almost within touching distance of the performers.
One of the acts performing in the show is the amazing English Gents, Denis Lock and Hamish McCann (pictured). These two are delightfully devilish and cordial “English” gentlemen who perform inconceivable feats of acrobatic skill, strength and balance, whilst casually puffing a pipe, reading the newspaper and sporting the stiffest of British upper lips. Their act mixes their highly skilled feats with a dry English wit, unexpectedly climaxing with the two hilariously baring near-all for Queen and country and in the process displaying more pure sex appeal than ever before seen under a bowler hat. And as for Hamish McCann’s one-of-a-kind pole routine, let’s just say it’s sure to leave you ‘feeling good’…
La Soiree will play from 7 March at the Playhouse (in the round), QPAC. Tickets are available via www.qpac.com.au or call 136 246.
